Resort:

Located in Dominical, Costa Rica, it is just 2 minutes away from the beach and is at the base of the rain-forested mountains. It also has the Baru River flowing from the mountains, creating beautiful waterfalls in the valley. It is a haven for those into fitness and Yoga. It offers various activities like Yoga, Surfing, and Healing Arts etc. all in an eco friendly environment with a strong connect to nature.

You can choose from 4 different types of eco-friendly made-up rooms for your stay at the resort. Each room has a unique name – The Womb, Ganesha, Lakshmi & Durga – the latter three being named after Hindu God & Goddess.

Offerings:

The Danyasa Eco Resort and Retreat offers variety of classes, workshops, retreats and trainings. It ranges from Yoga, Dance, Meditation, spiritual discourse, Musical retreats etc. They also offer the space where you can conduct classes and sessions of your own. They have many experts on board to take up different type of sessions.

A unique feature of this resort is the Bamboo Yoga which was developed by Sofiah who also conducts sessions on it. Bamboo Yoga concentrates on Strength, Flexibility and Grace by incorporating the principles of Bamboo in Yoga.

If you intend to be a Yoga Teacher, you are at the right place. Danyasa Eco Resort has a 200 hour Yoga Arts Teacher Training with 4 expert trainers to impart their knowledge. This training is applicable for the 200 hour Yoga Alliance Registry as well.

A very hearty, healthy and organic meal is provided on the days of the training session and the produce used is locally obtained.

Prices:

The Yoga and Dance class have been reasonably priced at $14 per drop-in class, $60 for a 5 class card and $110 for ten classes card. They also have special discounted rates for the locals. If you wish you can also opt for a private Yoga class in the studio or in private.

Shopping:

In case you happen to be in Dominical, you must drop in to their boutique which is very unique and has some very interesting stuff for sale. They have products sourced from all across the globe and carry mostly eco-friendly products. From organic cotton to bamboo fabric, they even have locally made organic soaps.

Getting here:

You can reach Danyasa Eco-Retreat by road from San Jose airport by either renting a vehicle (ensure GPS one) or taking a shuttle. Travel time would be around 3 hours. You can also opt to take buses leaving from San Jose, upto Dominical, but it would take around 5 hours. The Resort has a detailed map on the website to guide you.
