Situated along the Costa Rica’s northern Caribbean Zone, in Tortuguero, Laguna Lodge is an eco-touristic lodge. This lodge is nestled on fifteen acres of land full of trees and exotic plants and an open butterfly garden. If you want to enjoy beach activities during the vacation, you can choose this lodge as it has direct access to the beach. Developed in 1990, this lodge is working hard to increase sustainable awareness and for its infrastructure, friendly staff and great concern for nature and the community, this eco-touristic lodge has been growing to become the leading hotel in the area. This eco-friendly lodge is built on  a narrow strip of land, 650 feet wide between  Tortuguero´s main lagoon and the Caribbean Sea. Surrounding area of this lodge is rich in its bio-diversity and there you will find some stunning lakes, rivers as well as wetlands that shelter a lush jungle of primary forests and exotic plants. In the entire Western half of the Caribbean, this region is also renowned for its nesting site of the green sea turtle.

Rooms:

Laguna lodgeLaguna Lodge provides 100 rooms that are divided in blocks of 4 or 6 rooms. These rooms are spread in 6 acres of gardens and featured with all basic facilities that you need for enjoying a comfortable vacation. These wooden rooms are simple in design and has natural touch. Each of the room also features private bathroom with hot water, ceiling fan and reading lamps. Outside of the rooms there are wooden benches to spend some tranquil time and enjoy watching the amazing garden view from a close distance.

Conference room:

Laguna lodge has a conference room that is nicely designed by the famous sculptures Leda Astorga.This room is ideal for arranging meeting and reception.

Restaurants:

In Laguna Lodge property you will find a restaurant that is an open building serves three delicious buffet meal times. This restaurant building is decorated with rustic logs brought from the beach. Lodge’s experienced chef prepare all the foods. At the time of enjoying your food, you will enjoy watching the wonderful view of the surrounding.

Bars:

The main bar of the lodge is nestled at the river’s edge, with a deck over the water. This bar offers some delicious drinks and overlooking stunning view of the sunset as well as the wonderful river view. We can also enjoy watching the gentle movement of the fish in the water, natural harmony that will let us enjoy experiencing a heavenly feeling. This lodge also has two small bars that serves a collection of drinks and you can also enjoy drinks at the time of enjoying swimming in the pools amidst the rainforest.

Activities:

If you are interested to explore the natural beauty of the are as well as different species of the wild animals and birds, you can go for Tortuguero National Park Canal Tour. People who love to enjoy bird watching, they will find the park just like a Paradise as it is home to about 400 species of birds. This tour starts at the early morning and lasts for two hours. You can go to the botanical garden of Laguna Lodge, if you want to explore the complexity and beauty of the flora of the Caribbean. This garden has a variety of plants and some of those are used as commercial pharmaceutical products and medicine. This park is also perfect for the adventure lovers who can get thrilling experience with the trails.

You can visit the town with the help of a guide and can know about the lifestyle of the locals, their culture and customs as well as about the history of the area. You can also visit the town school, churches, stores, National Parks,and the community center that houses the Symphonic Band project
