The Tortuga Lodge and Gardens is located on the northeast Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. Nestled just offshore of the port town of Limon, in Tortuguero which is a unique place and can be accessed only by boat. The lodge is 47.5 KM or 29.5 miles from the Nicaraguan border. From the mouth of the Tortuguero River the lodge is just 1 mile away and it takes a ten minute boat ride down from the town. The Tortuga Lodge and Gardens provides accommodations with a neat combination of simplicity, luxury and well-appointed natural elegance. All the rooms are beautifully decorated, spacious, tastefully done up and comfortable. There are 26 Deluxe Suites and a Penthouse that are constructed with sustainable-growth harvested tropical woods. Each of the room is featured with a private bath (with a solar heated shower), free wireless internet, a ceiling fan and in-room safe along with some other basic amenities. In the Penthouse you will find a king bed (with private master bath), a queen bed with an independent private bath, solar heated warm water, free wireless internet, a huge private balcony that overlooks the surrounding rainforest landscape. There is a front porch furnished with relaxing hammocks and a nice seating area from where you can enjoy amazing view of the surrounding area. This Penthouse also has a three quarter porch that offers ovely vistas of the Tortuguero River. Each of the accommodation has almost as much window area as walls, thus merging the indoors with the outdoors.

In the early morning after taking your breakfast, you can go to the Tortuguero National Park by boat and with an expert guide. In the early morning you will get the opportunity to watch a variety of different species of wild animals such as troops of Howler monkeys, colorful birds and you might even encounter River Otter hunting. You can also see the Northern Jacana perched on an island of Water Hyacinth looking for insects and miniature shrimp. You can also go for fishing or can go for two hour village tour.
